Brass Bristle Brush
Hair On The Dog (not the furniture)
The Brass Bristle Brush is tested and recommended by Daisy Mae, our Collie, and this is her story.
Daisy Mae
“I was born beautiful, and one of my (many, many) good features is my exceptional coat.
It’s long and lustrous, and to keep me looking good, it sheds all the time.
So, there’s no daggy, old hair on me.
It’s all on the carpet, furniture and their clothes.
Oh, didn’t I mention, I have owners,… well companions really,… servants actually, since they look after my every need.
But they don’t seem to appreciate my coat anywhere except on me.
That’s not a problem for me, but the poor dears work their fingers to the bone. Scrubbing and scraping, vacuuming and brushing, and up till now it’s been of very little use. Nothing could shift it.
The Two Edges On The Brass Bristle Brush
Finally my people found a little man in Victoria, or was it Venezuela, geography isn’t my strong suit (who needs it with looks like mine). He makes this terribly clever tool just to remove pet hair.
Now I’m not just a pretty face. I’ve seen a few failures around here (we won’t mention the pneumatic toilet bowl cleaner), so I was a bit sceptical.
But it just whisked my hair right off everything. Carpet, furniture, curtains, clothes, even the car (which I use quite often), all squeaky clean in no time.
Of course I do all the work, growing and shedding the hair in the first place, so I can take all the credit.
Every one who has one swears by them and it’s all because of me.
So when’s dinner anyway.”
Since Daisy’s not big on detail I’ll fill in the gaps;
The Brass Bristle Brush In Action
One side of the brush head is used on coarse textures such as carpet and upholstery and the other for finer fabrics such as wool.
Don’t use it on very fine fabrics like silk or rayon, but hair won’t stick to these anyway.
A comfy, polished wooden handle looks smart and makes it easy to use.
Because it’s made out of tough brass, it lasts a long time.
And another big plus:- it’s Australian made.
I’m back. Daisy Mae. I have to tell you the story behind this brush.
My mum found this nifty little tool.
She and my other devoted owner, her partner, Victor Pleshev, were exhibiting their product range at the Yanco Field Days in Yanco NSW.
Many years ago now.
My mum, Carol, saw a pile of people surround this fella demonstrating a tool removing piles of pet hair from carpet and clothing.
Intrigued, she joins the crowd to have a peek.
She is very, very impressed.
But she trusts no-one. Especially demonstrators at shows.
She asks if she can take the brush to her car to see if it will remove the fur coat – mine – that lingers over the car seats.
Sure, he says. No, you don’t need to leave a deposit. I trust you.
My coat comes off in swathes in seconds.
She rushes back.
One more question. Where’s this made?
In Melbourne, he says. The brass head, wooden handles are all made in Melbourne, Victoria. And have been for over 30 years.
She pays for it and shows it to Victor.
“These things never work you know”, says he. “And why do you buy things Made In China”, he asks?
“You’ll eat your words”, says she.
And indeed he does.
It’s a regular feature in the back pocket of his jeans. The car, carpets, his black pea coat.
He’s so impressed, he suggests they adopt it and offer it with their other products.
I mean! He NEVER likes much of anything out there.
And indeed it’s a winner. With him and lots of others.
All because of me and my beautiful fur coat.
At $33.95 plus postage and handling, hair today, gone tomorrow.
Victor and my mum, Carol, aren’t the only two people who think the Brass Bristle Brush is the bee’s knees.
Read these.
“Carol,
I know that an email came from you some time ago and now I can’t find it but….it seems to me that you had requested information regarding our use of the brass bristle brush…..which I do love. The only problem is that I can’t even find it when I need it….it seems to ‘travel’ and not put back where it is supposed to be kept! I have learned that there are some fabrics that need to be brushed with caution but it is great on rugs and the more hearty of fabrics…such as a hefty velvet or napped fabrics as well as the rugs. Great invention especially for those of us with long haired cats and sewers!Hope all is well with you…I love seeing the photos of your property on your website…looks like heaven! …Take care and all the best. I sure hope that your sales are doing well ….I still love my ironing board covers and the brush too…think of you often as those items are in use! As always Mary Ann”
“Thanks Carol – I did receive the brass bristle brush and how effective! Got a handful of Winston’s hair although I’d hoovered a couple of days ago. You give Daisy Mae a big hug for me. Kind Regards, KAY”
“I also ordered a brass cat hair remover, which has been great, not only for the cat, but my daughter’s corgi also. It has certainly earned it’s pay in this household. I even do the carpet with it as my husband has put a long handle on it which can be unscrewed, making it much easier on my back. All the very best with your products. EVA”
“Carol
Just thought I would let you know my daughter really appreciated my gift of the brass bristle brush. She was a bit sceptical as she had tried other brushes. It is absolutely fantastic, can’t believe how great it is and how much hair it picks up. Everyone is delighted particularly Hercules (the beagle) because he can join his owners on the lounge . Regards HELEN”
“Just wanted to let you know that I found another good use for your Brass Bristle Brush.It helps lift impressions from the carpet…doesn’t remove them completely but certainly speeds up the recovery process! Just thought you might like to know about that discovery! Hugs MARY ANN”
“Dear Carol
1. we haven’t managed to wear out the brass brush yet in spite of our best efforts;
2. it gets rid of dog hair!;
3. I look forward to our annual chats;
4. I refer you to people at least once a year and imagine that will continue. If one is in the market for the items you sell, it is hard to go past you and your products.
I don’t recall when we last chatted Carol, but it was an enjoyable experience as usual… Regards, Denna PS have to examine my Xmas shopping list and see if there is anyone else I can give a log-lugger to!” Denna”
“Thank you Carol. The bristle brush has arrived and is well and truly in use!
Cheers” Bev”
“The Brass Bristle Brush…is fabulous! We have a short-haired Persian cat (the breed is called Exotic Shorthair) who still manages to leave 3 to 4 cm hairs over the furniture and our clothing. The Brush works just as you described – far better than the sticky-tape rollers we’d been using previously. Megan”
